August 2015 Meeting Minutes

 

 

Present and apologies:  As per attendance book.

Minutes of last meeting: Read and accepted as a true record. Moved, seconded. Carried.

President’s Report: Met and have had further contact with Ros Spence regarding discrepancies/unclear understanding of “numbers” the government requires for Greenvale to “qualify” for a secondary school.  Conversation is ongoing.

Treasurer’s Report:  Some reimbursement outgoings, little activity.

Correspondence: Nil.

Councillors’ Report: We are grateful for the attendance of Cr Helen Patsikatheodorou.

-         Cr Helen has, at a number of council meetings raised the issue of (or lack thereof) a bus between Greenvale and Gladstone Park and will continue to raise this;

-         Cr Helen is very happy to receive requests from the GRA to raise key issues as business items at the monthly open Council meetings.

Progress Reports:

Public Transport Issues:  As above
Greenvale Drive Reserve Proposed Upgrades: No updates.
Government Secondary College for Greenvale: As above.

General Business
-         Red light runners – Mickleham Road/Greenvale Drive: This continues to be an issue. VicRoads response to us when this was first raised was that safety cameras were not warranted.  Letter to be sent again and copied to Council.

  Denis Moore, President Craigieburn Residents’ Association:

o   Surprised that GRA has not made a formal submission regarding the Sunbury Out Of Hume issue;

  Gave us an example of a leaflet they produced and delivered promoting their association which Denis felt was effective.

-         Basketball Court Extension: Our representative on the committee reported on the progress with the second court for the centre: Car park expansion to commence around the end of September and expected start date for the court build to begin is December.
