October 26th Meeting Minutes

 Correspondence:
Out
·         Letter  to Minister of Transport re: Duplication of Mickleham Road.
·         Email to Jodie Ezard suggesting avenues where she can get help
·         Email to Greenvale shopping centre management  asking for information

In
·         From Victoria Police regarding the Red light camera at intersection Mickleham   Road and Greenvale Drive. Will not happen at the moment.  One for  Attwood being considered.
·         Email from Jodie Ezardl, re developers using sunset clauses to  get out of contracts
·         Owners of Greenvale Shopping Centre advised that Aldi was still going to open at Greenvale shops. There are some technical problems with design and car parking. Medical centre will be moved to a new building, There are considerations about having a parking time limit at the centre..

President’s report:
·         President discussed the speakers that had presented at the Association meetings.
   He said Our focus is on duplication of Mickleham Rd. and securing a Secondary College in Greenvale .

Treasurer’s report:
The most recent October closing balance was presented 
 
Corpus Christi:
The Community Director Patrick Gallagher presented the following to the meeting:
·         Corpus Christi established in 1974 by Mother Theresa  it was decided Fitzroy was no longer appropriate
·         Look for 4 areas for residents: Wellness; Recreational Lifestyle; Spiritual Care and Community
·         New building to be built on land near roundabout
·         Old buildings will be demolished
·         Corpus Christi against bottle shop in shopping centre but have never been approached about a licensed restaurant.

Mickleham Road Duplication
·         Josie Crisara mentioned that the duplication had not moved far. Werribee has a Facebook Page set up for it with 10,000 followers.
·         Need to table the balance of a petition for the duplication
·         Need to look at different strategies

AGM & Election of Office Bearers
The president declared all Positions vacant.
President thanked everyone involved in meetings and discussions , especially committee members
 Nobody other than current committee members nominated for the positions. Positions remain as previously, and a secretary has not been nominated.
President – Richard Baran
Vice president – Charlie Grech
Treasurer – Stephen Woodhams
Secretary – No one nominated. , Shared within committee

General  Business:
3 Ladies from Providence Estate were present and mentioned their concerns:
·         Camera at entrance to providence estate no longer working
·         There is hooning, drug dealing and rubbish dumping.  Have spoken to all authorities (including council) and the Estate Agents without any results.
·         Nature strips are not being maintained but council is saying that it is not their concern yet.
·         CG suggested they send the details to him so he can send letters with the GRA letterhead.

Drug issues are occurring at the Barrymore Centre

The new Speed Hump on Greenvale Drive is damaging cars as it is badly installed.

 Hooning on Fleetwood drive needs to be attended to
