LETTER SENT TO COUNCIL – RE: TRAIL BIKES RIDING ON VACANT PROPERTY NEAR CATTERICK CRT

LETTER SENT TO COUNCIL – RE: CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE VERGE ON ROUNDABOUT OF KIRKHAM & GREENVALE DRVE
Letter asked Council to concrete this verge as buses and heavy trucks are leaving mud on road after trying to negogiate roundabout.

LETTER SENT TO ADAM MAGUIRE – VIC ROADS– RE: WALKING PATH ON MICKLEHAM RD
We asked Vic Rds to investigate this walking path as it has branches overhanging with lots of debris on ground, making it hazardous for walkers/cyclists. We also mentioned that there is septic effluent coming from an open drain along this path. (Copies of letter were also sent to Ray Christy from Council as well as our Councillors.)

LETTER RECEIVED FROM COUNCIL (PETER BUDGE COORDINATOR TURF PARKS & OPEN SPACE) – RE: WALKING PATH ON MICKLEHAM RD
Letter says that Council investigated our concerns and advise the following:
· Removal and pruning of branches along fenceline to provide pedestrian access has been programmed for action.
· Smell of effluent from open drain has been passed on to Melbourne Water for assessment .
· The section of drain between Elphinstone Blvd and Barrymore Rd that is causing erosion problems is still under the Contractor maintenance period following duplication of Mickleham Rd, and has been referred to the responsible officer for action.
.
LETTER SENT TO VIC ROADS TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT – RE: RIGHT HAND TURN LANE FROM SOMERTON RD INTO ROXBURGH PARK SHOPPING CENTRE
We pointed out toVic Rds that traffic is building up quite heavily along this stretch of road, thus reducing the effectiveness of the Somerton Rd widening. We asked them to investigate this matter and to communicate to us their plan of action.

PHONE CALL MADE TO JEMENA ELECTRICITY – RE: STREET LIGHTS NOT WORKING ON INTERSECTION OF MICKLEHAM RD / TULLAMARINE FWY EXIT
Phone call number 4 was made on April 8th. Person I spoke to indicated that technicians may be having problems locating exact poles that need globe replacing, hence the delay. She suggested we get a pole number from affected poles. Pole number is visible on pole. Does anyone want to volunteer to do this????????

EMAIL SENT TO CR. ROS SPENCE – RE: INVITATION TO OUR MEETING
Cr. Ros Spence will endeavour to attend meeting in May.

LETTER RECEIVED FROM HUME COUNCIL – PAUL GRIMES – RE: GREENVALE DRIVE RESERVE-FENCING
This letter was a response to our correspondence with Council asking for gaps in fencing to be rectified so as to restrict cars and motorbikes from driving on to the reserve. Council has indicated that a fence and gate system (Chicane) is currently being re-designed for the park on Greenvale Drive which will prevent cars / motorbikes accessing reserve but still allow pram / wheel chair access. Council will be commencing the installation of this gate system in the new financial year 08/09.

LETTER RECEIVED FROM DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT – RE:BUS SERVICE REVIEW- SECOND LOCAL AREA COMMUNITY WORKSHOP
We received an invitation to attend the second Bus Service Review Workshop. This is a follow up workshop to the one held earlier in the year and attended by some of our members. The only bus that could affect Greenvale residents is the Route 500 (Broadmeadows to Melb Airport).
This review does not mention the 484 Greenvale bus.
Suggestion made that Bus 484 is hardly used after 7:30p.m. and therefore should be replaced with a smaller minibus to cut pollution . Letter to be written.
Letter was not sent to Council regarding unauthorised advertising around Greenvale as resident has observed that problem appears to have been fixed up.
