April 2015 Meeting Minutes

Present:- As per attendance book

Apologies:- As per attendance book

Correspondence: Nil

Treasurer’s Report: In John’s absence, Richard informed the meeting of the group's finances,
and confirmed that the Neighbourhood Watch
Accounts have been transferred to the GRA .
Outgoings for this month were the PO Box registration for the next 2 years ($230) and
Richard still awaiting payment of expenses. Charlie and Richard to contact John regarding
assisting him with  the treasurer’s activities to free John up for the important community work he is
involved in outside the GRA.

President's Report
Public transport : correspondence has not been received nor anything further provided to GRA with specific details to move forward with addressing the issue. Richard to follow up.

Crime statistics: It was understood that Mayor Atmaca had contacted a police spokesperson
on the GRA’s behalf with our request to be provided with detailed crime statistics for
Greenvale. Anecdotally it is understood that there continues to be a spate of burglaries
occurring in the suburb but this is not publicised (eg: in the Leader) so that the community is
unaware. Decision taken to write to all of Greenvale’s council representatives and the Hume
CEO expressing our dismay at the lack of appropriate response – eg: visibly increased police
patrols, community awareness.

Councillors Report. No councillor present
Councillor’s involvement with GRA: Disappointment was expressed in the lack of interest
shown by our ward councillors, who are invited to attend our meetings and who, with the exception of Cr Helen Patsikatheodorou, neither attend nor send their apologies for their inability to attend.

Neighbourhood Watch Merger Update: As covered in the President’s Treasurers report.

Progress Reports:
Public Transport Issues: As covered in the President’s report. Meeting to be scheduled
with Ros Spence MP to discuss this along with other significant issues currently facing
Greenvale residents.
Greenvale Drive Reserve Proposed Upgrades: To be followed up in a letter to Mayor
Atmaca as he was the source of this first being mentioned.
Government Secondary College for Greenvale: While it will be an uphill battle, the
decision was made to forge ahead with an updated proposal for the secondary school
as this continues to be an enormous gap in the services provided in Greenvale. Meeting
to be scheduled with Ros Spence MP to discuss this along with other significant issues
currently facing Greenvale residents.
Greenvale LATM Outcomes: A letter has been sent to all residents indicating that there will
be permanent speed check signs and speed markings installed on Greenvale drive along
with upgrades to the traffic islands in order to slow traffic. The 19 proposed speed
‘cushions’ will not be installed. Similar outcome for Drummond St. Two additional speec

‘cushions’ to be installed at the Greenvale Drive end of Kirkham Drive.

General Business
Sunbury out of Hume process has been delayed by 12 months in order that further
feasibility studies be conducted.

Meeting Schedule for the remainder of 2015 to be posted in the cabinet at the shopping
centre.
