February 2015 Meeting Minutes

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes of last meeting were circulated and accepted as a
true record. Moved and seconded that minutes and correspondence be accepted. Carried.
President’s Report: President has been checking recent crime stats for Greenvale, and
believes we need to get better and more accurate stats in the future
Treasurer’s Report: In the absence of the treasurer, the President reported on our
finances
Vivian reported that as Neighbourhood Watch is not operating any more, they have
resolved to transfer their finances to GRA. Vivian to attend to closure of NW account and
confirm the transfer of funds to GRA account.
Correspondence: Out: Australia Post regarding relocation of street postal box from
Motherwell Ave to the corner of Barrymore Road & Greenvale Drive - awaiting response;
Out: Ros Spence MP (State Member for Yuroke) regarding becoming involved in a renewed
push for the establishment of a government secondary school in Greenvale - awaiting
response.
Councillors’ Report: No councillor present.
Neighbourhood Watch Merger Update: As per Treasurer’s update.
Public Transport Issues: This was discussed at length, and it was resolved to seek a meeting
with our new State MP Ros Spence, to put our case to her and seek her support to lobby the
State Government for improved public transport for Greenvale. Joe C to provide some
background on this issue, President to organise the Meeting, and subcommittee to attend
the meeting.
Discussion centred on a possible New Bus service from Craigieburn to Airport west, running
along Mickleham Rd, and servicing all the estates along the way.
Greenvale Drive Reserve Proposed Upgrades: It was decided to seek further information
from council regarding any proposed improvements.
Government Secondary College for Greenvale: It was decided that this should form part of
the discussion at the meeting with Ros Spence. We will prepare a case to present to her in
support of our need.
2015 Meeting Schedule: It was resolved to hold our 2015 meetings in February, April, June,
August, and October, with the possibility of a special meeting in November if necessary.
Continuing to be held on the last Thursday of the month, at 7.30 pm. Vivian to book the
meeting room for these dates.
General Business
 

Somerton Rd Duplication: It was decided to bring this up also with Ros Spence when we
meet her regarding the other issues we are currently addressing.

LATM: It was decided to write to council to get an update on any decisions regarding the
Greenvale Local Area Traffic management plans.

Greenvale Reservoir Entrance: There are ongoing concerns about vehicles disobeying the
No Right Turn signs, when both entering and exiting the Reservoir Park.
