Diane informed me that she sent an email to Council regarding the state of the parkland along Yuroke Creek, especially between Somerton Rd and Kirkham Drive. Council contacted her and she had an onsite meeting with two staff members who clarified which areas come under Council or Melbourne Water. They are going to persue a number of matters and Diane is hopeful that she can report on the outcomes at our October meeting.

COUNCILLORS’ REPORT- Cr Drew Jessop
• Drew informed us that in the second week of February, Council draw up their BUDGET for the new year.
• He suggested that as a group, we discuss and draw up a list of what our expectations are for Greenvale- ie, what do we want from the budget?
• List should be given to Cr.Adem Atmaca and Cr. Ros Spence.
• Darryl Canny expressed concern that we don’t have any major, top quality parks with good play equipment for children here in Greenvale.
• Drew suggested that we focus on one park that we want fixed up, to do a high level update. He recommends that we start a campaign and ask Council to draw up a Master Plan for this particular park with a time frame for each stage of park development.
• Resident asked Drew about a Neighbourhood House for Greenvale. Drew suggested that we ask Councillors for a Masterplan – an indication as to when a Neighbourhood House would be a viable proposition for Greenvale.
• Mention was made of dangerous intersection – Section Rd/Somerton Rd. Many people are using this intersection as they arrive / leave Greenvale Reserve for sporting activities. Drew informed us that Vic Rds is responsible for fixing the problem at this intersection. Unfortunately, there is a gas pipeline in this area and Vic Rds is reluctant to change intersection due to pipeline.
• Drew suggested that we ask Vic Rds to do a road survey / accident statistics once second oval is in and maybe then push for intersection upgrade.
CFA PRESENTATION TO GREENVALE RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION
