General Business
Mickleham Road: The channels that direct storm water from the gutters into the central collection area appear to be facing the wrong way. Discussion on this matter indicated that this is during heavy down pours and that this may have been raised previously with Vic Roads.
Action: Secretary to investigate all previous correspondence with Vic Roads on Mickleham Road.
Sewerage Problem on Mickleham Road: This problem has been reported to the Hume City Council before. A septic tank overflow from a private residence is spilling into the storm water gutter causing a potential health problem.
Action: Charlie Grech / Greg White advised that they would take control of this problem and get the Hume City Council Health Inspector involved to resolve the issue.
Public Transport Petition: General discussion has held on the Bus transport routes within the Greenvale area. There was extreme disappointment about the re-routing of the Smart Bus away from Greenvale down Pascoe Vale Road to Broadmeadows. The frequency of the 484 service was also discussed. At the conclusion of the discussion it was put forward that a letter from the Association should be sent to the Minister for Transport voicing our concern. As a state election was to be held in the next few days there was no point in doing it before February.
Action: The Secretary to draft a letter for the President.
Daryl Canny advised the meeting that the Council intends to start work upgrading playgrounds at two parks (Greenvale Ave and Normanby Road in April 2011. Cr Ros Spence gave details of the proposed works. Mr Canny did not like the proposal and suggested that there should be a review. Cr Spence advised that was not possible.
Action: No further action at this time.
There being no further General Business the President thanked those in attendance for coming and closed the meeting at 8:10 pm.
