Smart Power Meters: John Haddad advised that smart power meters are being installed currently in Greenvale. He provided information to the Association. Discussion followed with several members concerned about cost. John asked if it was possible for the GRA to contact major power billing companies to ask them if they would provide discounted power for bulk billing (100 residences).
Action. The Secretary to follow up.

Library Bookmarks: David Burrows raised a suggestion that a way of advertising the GRA is to provide bookmarks to the Mobile Library the Association details on it. The Secretary advised that permission had been granted to place bookmarks in the mobile library. Vania presented artwork for the meeting to look at. After discussion it was decided that minor alterations were needed to the artwork and that Brianna would assist Vania with this.
Action: Vania and Brianna to complete artwork and provide to Secretary for costing.

State Secondary School for Greenvale: Several residents had questions about a Secondary School for Greenvale. The President explained the Associations recent success in getting the land removed from the sale register of land that the Education Dept. declared surplus. Further discussion indicated that this is a very important requirement for Greenvale and it was decided to form a sub-committee (to be raised at the next meeting) to further the push. The Secretary is to write to Hume City Council seeking information on projected numbers expected in Greenvale for the next five years.
Action: Secretary to write to Hume City Council.

Presentation to Vania Lunardi: The GRA President Daniel Garafalo asked Vania to stand and then proceeded to present her with a Certificate of Service from the Greenvale Residents’ Association for her hard work over the last five years as the Secretary of the Association.

Vandalism and Theft: Charlie Grech tabled a copy of a letter sent by Barrymore Road Preschool Committee to the Hume City Council. Charlie summarized the letter touching on the health and safety issues regarding condoms, drug items, alcohol bottles and when the Centre was soiled with body excrements. Theft is prevalent with many items stolen from the outside areas and the shade sails were sliced with knifes. The letter also included a list of actions required by the Council. Charlie asked that the GRA support the Preschool committee.
Action: Secretary to contact Kerry Ventura and write to Council.

Wish List for Hume City Council: Discussion on the facilities most needed in Greenvale concluded that the Secondary School was the most needed. The Greenvale Jets soccer clubrooms, extended playgrounds, Neighbourhood house, a gym and additional basketball courts were the remaining items. For additional discussion at the next meeting.
