September 2011 Meeting Minutes

MEETING COMMENCED: Charlie Grech Vice-President welcomed members and guests and declared the meeting opened at 7.05p.m.

CORRESPONDENCE OUT / IN
The Minutes from the August meeting were presented and passed.
E-mail from Hume Transport Links dated 22 September 11.  Free bicycle education in Broadmeadows.
The treasurer reported on the group's finances

 GENERAL BUSINESS
Re-Zoning of land Under Flight Path

The public meeting against the rezoning that was held at Greenvale Recreation Centre on September 8th 2011 was discussed.  Members were disappointed with response of the CEO and the Hume City Councils position to this issue.

Somerton Rd
David spoke on dangers of Somerton Rd and particular the new intersection at Somerton Rd and Aitken Boulevard. He asked if we could get information from VicRoads.  The council position was stated with the Hume Council wanting Aitken Boulevard T intersection signalized, and it wants Kirkham Dve to be incorporated in the signalization.
Action: The Secretary to follow up.

Bookmarks

A motion was put forward to expend up to $600.00 to purchase 1000 bookmarks as per the quote from Snap Printing.  Proposed David Burrows, Seconded Daryl Canny, Passed. 
Action: The Secretary the purchase the bookmarks.

Food Handlers Course
The Secretary asked if anyone wanted to do this course as when and if we run a sausage sizzle or provide food there is a legal requirement to have a qualified person in attendance.  Mr Daryl Canny said he would do the course.  A motion was moved that the course fees be paid by GRA up to the value of $165.00.
Proposed Joe Calabretta, Seconded Maria Rickey Passed.
Action: Daryl Canny to provide details and costs to Secretary.

Sewer in Mickleham Road
David asked for info on wether the septic tank on the property had been replaced in accordance with the HCC directive.  Charlie had no new information and said he will follow up.
Action: Vice-President to follow up and report to the next meeting.

Dangerous Dogs
Mavis advised that the new State Government laws on dangerous dogs come into effect on 1 Oct11.

Mickleham Road
David asked about the areas on Mickleham Road regarding the ground maintenance.  Greg advised he had spoken the HCC Grounds foreman and he advised that VicRoads are responsible for these areas.  HCC has maintained them on previous occasions.  David asked that a letter be sent to VicRoads to get the ground maintenance done.
Action: Secretary to send letter to VicRoads.

The meeting closed at 8.20pm.
