GENERAL BUSINESS
Re-Zoning of land
Under Flight PathThe public meeting against the rezoning that was held at Greenvale Recreation Centre on September 8th 2011 was discussed. Members were disappointed with response of the CEO and the Hume City Councils position to this issue.
Somerton Rd
David
spoke on dangers of Somerton Rd and particular the new intersection at Somerton
Rd and Aitken Boulevard. The Secretary advised the meeting of discussions with
VicRoads. Plans are almost complete for
the Aitken Boulevard T intersection signalized, and Kirkham Dve is to be
incorporated in the signalization. There is no funding for duplication of
Somerton Road in the next financial year.
The Magnola Bde intersection is also going to be upgraded in the next 12
months. Signalization is planned.
Bookmarks
An
order has been placed with Snap Printing for 1000 bookmarks at the cost of
$348.00. Action: The Secretary to collect when ready.
Food Handlers Course
Daryl Canny provided information on the course and said that he would pay for it himself as the cost is only $50.00. John Haddad said that the Association should pay but Daryl insisted.
Action: Daryl Canny to complete course at his leisure.
Sewer in
Mickleham Road
David
asked for info on whether the septic tank on the property had been replaced in
accordance with the HCC directive.
Charlie had followed up with council who re-inspected the site and issued
another work order to the tenant. Action: Vice-President to follow up and report to the next meeting.
Dangerous Dogs
Mavis
had previously advised that the new State Government laws on dangerous dogs
come into effect on 1 Oct11. There was a
general discussion on dangerous dogs.
Members were advised to contact the Hume City Council on dangerous dogs
and the Police on 000 if there is a danger to life.
Mickleham Road
David
asked about the areas on Mickleham Road regarding the ground maintenance. Greg advised he had spoken the HCC Grounds
foreman and that they advised that VicRoads are responsible for these
areas. HCC has maintained them on
previous occasions. The Secretary
advised that the letter had not been sent to VicRoads as he was procuring photos
of the areas to send with the letter to VicRoads.Action: Secretary to send letter to VicRoads.
