Presidents report
President
summarized the past year as very busy , culminating with the biggest attendance
for many years in regards to the protection and security of private
properties .However there is need for a greater participation of our residents if we're to force some nagging issues .
Treasurer’s
Reported on the group's finances: Moved Stephen, seconded
Richard -- carried
General Business: It was mentioned that the
State Government was holding secret negotiations with interested parties
regarding the sale of the secondary College site in Barrymore Rd.
This site has been earmarked for a Greenvale
secondary College for the past 30 + years and the state government is
continuing to shirk its responsibility to provide Greenvale students with
secondary education within their district. It was resolved to write to our local member and the responsible minister to seek answers and a meeting to get some action regarding the establishment of secondary college in Greenvale
AGM. It was decided that as there were
insufficient numbers to hold a proper AGM, that office bearers will hold their current
positions for the present.
This will be reviewed in 2017.
Committees Special Minute
People numbers make things happened. The same people that turn up month after month
can’t do it all by themselves. We all lead busy lives. All we need is a little extra of your time.
Everyone’s little contribution will be greatly appreciated.
If residents want change in Greenvale then we need everyone’s help.
Issues of current concern:
Mickleham Road upgrade,Somerton Road upgrade.
Burglaries
Extra facilities for our children
More bus services
And I am sure there are many more.
The more letters we write to Rose Spence the more she
can raise all of our concerns at Parliament.
The more Greenvale is mention at parliament the sooner things might get
done.
Greenvale needs to
have a voice. Let’s make it happen
together!!
Looking forward to seeing many more people at our next meeting.
