Letter from R Spence: re Secondary College and Greenvale students access to Gladstone Park SC

Treasurer' report. The treasurer reported on the groups finances

President's Report
·         Meeting re security in local area was held at last meeting.  Biggest problem for burglars are: vigilant neighbours and alarms. Continue to raise concerns with authorities.
·         Gateway newsletter keeps you up to date with airport news, airport demand is growing

Councillor's Report. Naim Kurt - new councillor was present
·         Use Hume App to report issues
·         Draft budget being worked upon. Will go to public for comment and possible submissions.
·         Need to ensure land set aside for activity centres eg schools.
·         Community Airport Consultative Group meets four times a year- creation of third runway.  Looking at sound proofing for houses that may be affected.
·         Concerns raised re amount of illegal advertising around Hume and on fences. Can Council officers fine people for this?
·         Issues of Hoon driving - Report on hoon hot line
 
Sub committee Report - Mickleham Road
Ros Spence  tabled a second Petition parliament in March with almost 500 signature.

It is worth continuing to collect signatures.

Copies of petition will be sent out to collect more signatures. Return to GRA.

General Business
Vic Roads to be contacted re issue with corner of Aitken Blvd,  Kirkham and Somerton Road - congestion issues  and poor timing at lights, particularly for those turning right from Kirkham Drive.

Will Aitken Boulevard be extended to the Western Ring Road? Are more speed humps needed on Kirkham Drive?

Works done at park on Greenvale Drive are improving the park. Landscaping is looking good.  Can Council put a Gazebo over the barbecue?

Can trees in Barrymore Road that are missing be replaced?

Can Council look at indentations be done on narrow streets in new estates. List of Streets required. Would also be good around Greenvale Primary School and Saint Carlos. Write letters to Council to look at the situation.  New primary schools needed in new estates to alleviate traffic and travel.

Check to ensure GRA Facebook page is being updated.

See if we can get Luke Donnellan (Roads and Road Safety Minister, or opposition member at our meeting.
